Höhr-Grenzhausen is the ceramic centre in Germany with numerous ceramic workshops www.keramik-stadt.de. There is no other town where tradition and modernity as well as technology and education are concentrated in such an enriching way as in Höhr-Grenzhausen. Everything that makes up the diversity of ceramics will be on display in a market zone about 500 metres long. Around 125 exhibitors from all over Europe will offer visitors a wide range of ceramics, including utility and ornamental ceramics, genuine salt-glazed stoneware, ceramic jewellery and many other ceramic products. Once again, numerous European exhibitors, e.g. from Great Britain, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and Hungary, will be taking part. They open the view beyond their own borders. There will be an extensive ceramics programme on both days at Laigueglia Square - in the middle of the market zone. On Sunday, for example, the "Open German Pottery Championship" will take place there as part of the European Ceramic Market. The competition will be held in four rounds and the winner will be determined by an elimination procedure. Four to six ceramists will compete against each other in various disciplines. The preliminary rounds will take place on Saturday at 12 noon; the final round will start on Sunday at 1 pm. The prizes with a total value of 1,500 euros are provided by the company Hans Wolbring GmbH from Höhr-Grenzhausen.The Westerwald Ceramics Museum www.keramikmuseum.de, directly in the market zone, will entice visitors to the museum festival with many activities and free admission.Numerous ceramics workshops in the town will also be open.An extensive children's and youth programme organised by the Nassauische Sparkasse makes the ceramics market an experience even for the youngest visitors.Around 2,000 free parking spaces are available in the city area.Take advantage of the P+R offer.
